Terms of Use

These terms cover your use of CityTown. They’re written to be read, not to hide behind. By using the site you’re agreeing to what’s below. If a specific clause matters to you and it isn’t clear, ask via the contact page before relying on it.

CityTown is owned and operated by Devonil Hosting [OWNER TO SUPPLY: registered legal entity name, company number and registered address].

Accuracy, and why you still need to check

We put real effort into getting things right: guides are drafted from structured data, checked by a human, and dated. Our full process is on the editorial policy page. But travel information goes stale fast — opening hours change, transit lines get suspended, prices move, visa rules get updated, and venues close. We publish in good faith and we correct errors when we learn about them, but we can’t promise every detail is current at the moment you read it.

So treat CityTown as a well-researched starting point, not the final word. Before anything time-sensitive or money-sensitive — booking, turning up somewhere expecting it to be open, relying on a price, or making travel plans around a visa or safety claim — verify it with the official source: the operator, the venue, the airline, or the relevant government. Prices on the site are shown with a currency and an “as of” date precisely so you can judge how fresh they are.

Affiliate links

Some links on CityTown are affiliate links. If you book or buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This never changes what we recommend — the reasoning is on how we make money. Using an affiliate link is entirely your choice, and every recommendation names the provider so you can go direct instead if you prefer.

Links to other websites

CityTown links out to plenty of other sites — transit operators, booking partners, official tourism and government pages. We don’t control those sites, we’re not responsible for their content or their privacy practices, and a link isn’t an endorsement of everything on the far end. Once you leave CityTown, that site’s own terms and privacy policy apply.

Limitation of liability

CityTown is provided on an “as is” basis for general information. To the extent the law allows, we’re not liable for any loss or inconvenience arising from your use of the site or from relying on its content — for example, a missed booking, a closed venue, an out-of-date price, or a disrupted plan. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that can’t be limited by law. This doesn’t affect any statutory rights you have as a consumer.

Our content and how you can use it

The writing, structure, layout and original graphics on CityTown are ours (or used with permission) and are protected by copyright. You’re welcome to read, print and share pages for your own travel planning, and to link to us. What you can’t do is republish, scrape, or reproduce substantial parts of the site commercially without our permission.

Some of the factual data behind our guides comes from open sources such as GeoNames, Open-Meteo, Wikipedia, Wikidata and OpenStreetMap, each under its own licence; those licences belong to those projects, not to us. Trademarks and brand names mentioned in guides belong to their respective owners and are used for identification only.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any dispute relating to them or to the site falls under the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the site develops. The current version is always the one on this page, and the review date sits in the page footer. Questions go to the contact page.
